Dental Implants

Dental implants are a procedure that often are preferred to use when replacing missing teeth. A titanium cylinder is placed into the jawbone, and acts like a root. This often helps to maintain bone height. Then a porcelain crown is made and emerges from the gum tissue which looks and functions like the once natural tooth. Using x-rays, measurements, and models, the surgeon and restorative dentist are able to track the progression from the initial implant placement to the final crown cementation. These coordinated efforts provide the patient with an attractive, healthy "tooth".
